Day 3

A crap load of Stormtroopers... and Luigi
Thursday, Day 3 for us, was the official first
day of the convention. We once again started the day wondering
the exhibition hall. Seriously, this place was just huge.
You could walk around for hours seeing new things and new people.

Batman and Bat-Rosie

An awesome Alien made from what appeared to be household objects
(and me being scared)
And while I remember it, notice the Batman
shirt I'm wearing. Considering this was Comic-Con, the land of
nerd, I got WAY too much attention for wearing this shirt. On
multiple occasions people referred to me as "Batman". Now, I
can understand if this was anywhere else, but most often there was
someone about five feet away actually DRESSED AS BATMAN. Oh
well, just thought I'd mention that.

The Man, The Myth, The Maddox... eating a chip

Mmmm... lunch
Basically, cheap food at the convention center was hard to come by.
Good thing there was a Ralph's (grocery store chain in California)
near by. That became our usual lunch routine everyday, a nice
little jaunt to Ralph's for deli sandwiches and what not.
There was also a nice outdoor shopping mall a little further away
that served well for dinner. Outdoor shopping malls... only in
California I tell yah!

From the left, Joe Quesada, Jerk in a brown shirt, Paul Jenkins,
J. Michael Straczynski,
Frank Cho (I think...)
The first panel we went to at the Con was the
Marvel: Civil War panel. Basically if you haven't heard, Civil
War is a big Marvel event going on right now, it's all the rage.
Anyways, it was pretty cool just seeing the people who actually make
the comics in person. The only annoying part was this guy who
moderated the panel in a brown shirt. He just carried himself
and spoke in a way that was annoying and he had nothing to do with
anything. Other than him, it was cool as we got some sneak
peaks at what was coming up as well as a huge Q&A session.

In general, it was just an awesome area to be
in

Some more Stormtroopers and a pretty authentic Vader

Some more Sideshow Collectibles stuffs
The funny thing about that picture above is I
only intended to get Rosie with C3PO and R2D2, but this Stormtrooper
guy just waltzed into the picture anyways from the side. Hey,
it works.

Rosie: fully pose-able
That evening we went to a Star Wars Fan Film
awards show. The line to this thing wrapped around the entire
upstairs and we almost thought we wouldn't get in, but it seems they
know pretty well how big they need the rooms to be for these things
and it wasn't a problem finding a seat. I don't have any
pictures of this, as for the most part pictures weren't allowed, but
it was fun. The fan films were way too good, as the graphics
in some of them were better than the original trilogy by far.
Overall a very entertaining day.
